Dorset Lodge fees vary depending individual care requirements of the resident, the type of room required and the length of stay. We offer Respite, Convalescent and Permanent Residency. Please contact us to discuss our fees further.
Dorset Lodge is a non-government funded facility, therefore there is no need for means testing or paying large bonds or ingoing fees. You simply pay the weekly or monthly fee. This means you can allow your assets to grow in value rather than diminish and that you are not locked into long-term contracts, allowing more freedom and choice.

Included in the Fee
Our fees cover a wide range of services, below is a list of the services included in our weekly or monthly fee:
Personal suite with private ensuite, built in robes,air-conditioning & furniture if required
All Rates & Utilities including; council rates, electricity, gas & water
Use of the entire facility including common rooms and specialty rooms ie Hairdressers Room, Private Dining Room etc.
Meals and Drinks
24-Hour onsite Personal Care, including: assistance with showering, dressing, grooming, toileting & mobility
Medication Management & Administering
The majority of our Activities & Therapy Programs
Management of Allied Health Professionals such as Doctors, Physiotherapists etc
Bed Making & Changing
Laundering and Ironing of linen and personal items
Cleaning of personal suite and the entire facility
Maintenance of personal suite and the entire facility
Dorset Lodge is supported by The Department of Veteran Affairs (DVA).
All DVA Members are entitled to receive a certain amount of Respite or Convalescent Care each year. So whether you are recovering from surgery or illness or simply requiring a break; your DVA membership can assist you in accessing FREE accommodation and care at Dorset Lodge.

'Rent Assistance' through Centrelink is often granted to residents residing at Dorset Lodge.
Receiving The Aged Pension + Rent Assistance can often be the difference between being able to afford the quality accommodation and care at Dorset Lodge. You may be surprised at the amount that can be granted by the government. Of course, eligibility for such assistance is dependant on individual circumstances.
We encourage you to contact Centrelink to discuss what assistance packages are available to you.
Private Health Cover
Dorset Lodge is registered and complies with most major Private Health Insurers. Many Private Insurers offer Respite and Convalescent care at little or no charge to its members. This is dependant on your level of cover and the conditions of your policy.
We encourage you to contact your Private Health Insurance Provider to find out if you are eligible or free or discounted accommodation and care at Dorset Lodge.
The Aged Pension
If you currently receive the Pension you are still entitled to receive the pension even if you become a resident of Dorset Lodge. Dorset Lodge does not receive the money on your behalf; you will continue to receive the pension as per normal and will have the freedom to spend that money how you wish.
Residency at Dorset Lodge does not affect your Pension at all.
My Aged Care Home Care Package
If you are over 65, you are eligible for applying for Home Care Package provided by government (https://www.myagedcare.gov.au/help-at-home/home-care-packages). The package funding ranges from $8,750 to $50,750 per year for various care services. And you have the right to choose the service providers you prefer.
We are a private SRS facility NOT government funded nursing home. If you are a respite resident, your stay at Dorset Lodge can be funded by your Home Care Package. If you are a permanent resident, some of our service can also be funded from your Home Care Package. Please give us a call for more information. We will work with you and your case manager or financial manager to maximize your benefits.
National Disability Insurance Scheme （NDIS）(selective)
If you currently are a NDIS participant, you have the right to choose your own service provider no matter if they are registered or not. We can certainly provide certain category of care assistance and will work with your planner to figure out what care services we can provide and if any of the services can be covered in your NDIS approved funding. Dorset Lodge does not receive the money on your behalf from government; you will continue to receive the NDIS funding as per normal and will have the freedom to spend that money per the approved plan and how you wish.
Residency at Dorset Lodge does not affect your NDIS funding at all.
